Privacy Policy

PrepYaar (the "App") is operated by Blig Technologies Pvt Ltd, a company registered in India ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use PrepYaar and how we use it.

1. Data we collect

Phone number — for account creation and login (via OTP)
Name — optional, for your profile
Learning activity — quizzes attempted, scores, time spent, streaks, bookmarks
AI tutor chat messages — to answer your questions and improve responses
Payment records — processed by Razorpay; we store transaction IDs and subscription status, not card or bank details
Device information — crash reports (via Sentry), usage analytics (via PostHog), OS version, app version

2. How we use your data

Deliver core app features (courses, tests, AI tutor)
Send OTPs and transactional notifications
Improve content quality and user experience
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
Comply with legal obligations under Indian law

3. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for advertising.

We share limited data with these service providers strictly for the purposes above:

Firebase (Google) — for OTP delivery via Phone Auth
Anthropic — AI tutor chat processing (chat content is sent to Anthropic Claude for responses)
Razorpay — payment processing (subscriptions)
Cloudflare, DigitalOcean — infrastructure hosting
Sentry, PostHog — crash reporting and product analytics

4. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Learning activity is retained to power your progress dashboards. If you delete your account, all personal data is deleted within 30 days, except records we are required to keep by law (e.g., tax records for payments).

5. Your rights

Access: request a copy of your data
Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion: request account and data deletion
Withdrawal of consent: stop using the app anytime

Email support@prepyaar.com for any of the above. We respond within 30 days as required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).

6. Children's data

PrepYaar is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

All data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords and refresh tokens are hashed (Argon2id). Payment card details never touch our servers — Razorpay handles them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
